Come and stay at our Alpaca Farm. Greenholme is a 15 acre smallholding near the small village of Killington. It is situated in stunning and peaceful location, ideally centrally placed for exploring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Eden Valley, Trough of Bowland, Hadrian’s Wall and Scottish Borders. It is approached by a private track bringing you to an elevated position with magnificent 180 degree views over the Lune Valley and Howgills. As well as having Alpacas. we have a large variety of wildlife including deer, badgers, foxes and a variety of birds wildlife. This year we also have had our first otter sighting reported. The bird population is very varied (Leighton Moss wild life reserve 25 minutes drive), Buzzards are a common sight circling above the fields on most fine days, Curlews in the spring bring their own magical sound as do the Oyster Catchers. We also have Kestrels, Sparrow hawks, Herons, Woodpeckers, Stonechats, Owls and many more species. We breed Alpacas and use there luxurious fleece to make quality products from gloves to duvets. Which can be seen in a showroom near Sedbergh. Private patio and sitting area with table and chairs. Private parking.

Kendal the major town (11 miles) offers a large variety of shops, leisure facilities and museums, whilst local town of Sedbergh (3 miles) has a Tourist information centre, good everyday shopping, restaurants and pub facilities it is also a Booktown where many hours can be absorbed browsing the shelves. Ingleton, Dent, Wensleydale, Haws, The Eden Valley, famous for caves, waterfalls, and limestone scenery just minutes away. Access to the Settle Carlisle Steam railway @ Dent Station 10 miles.
Rooms Description
A recent conversion from farm buildings has been designed for all year occupancy with high insulation and double glazing, central heating and wood / multi fuel stove. A well equipped pine fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, etc. Living area with stove, dining table and comfortable chairs, Sofa bed, TV Sky freeview, DVD. Bathroom with corner bath, WC, wash hand basin, Shaver point and heated towel rail. Stairs leading out of the lounge to two bedrooms, 1 with double with king size bed wash hand basin Shaver point and space for cot/camp bed if required. The other with 3/4 size bed ( bunk above if required ) A large shared utility room contains a automatic washing machine, sink ,tumble dryer, deep freeze, and Table Tennis Table. Linen, duvets and pillows are provided, Electricity and heating are included in the rent towels are available at extra charge. A cot, high chair, stair gate are available. Other requirements, please ask.
Specialities
We have grazing and stabling for a Pony should you require. Dogs/pets are welcome but by prior arrangement, and must be under strict control at all times and not left unattended. There are also various walks around us to suit all levels, from gentle valley and riverside walks to the more demanding but rewarding Howgills and hill top walks - Dales Way. We have a number of footpaths from the doorstep including a delightfull wander across fields to the church and village centre. We also have a Bike store room and by prior arrangment a range of bicycles here to suit all ages - please enquire.
