Cosy Cottage Situated Near The Small Village Of Killington With Magnificent Views Of The Lune Valley

Greenholme is a 15 acre smallholding near the small village of Killington. It is ideally centrally placed for exploring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Eden Valley, Trough of Bowland, Hadrians Wall and Scottish Borders. It is approached by a private track bringing you to an elevated position with magnificent views of the Lune valley and Howgills. As well as having our flock of sheep and some Alpacas. we have a large variety of wildlife in the area. Deer on the hillside behind us and foxes and badgers are occasional visitors. This year we also have had our first otter sighting reported. The bird population is very varied (Leighton Moss wild life reserve 25 minutes drive), buzzards are a common sight circling above the fields on most fine days, curlews in the spring bring their own magical sound as do the oyster catchers when they come up from the river Lune below us. We also have kestrels, sparrow hawks, herons, woodpeckers , stonechats , owls and many more species

Sedbergh is the nearest town for shopping and has a Tourist information centre. Kendal is the gateway to the Lakes and has a large variety of shops, leisure centre, museums and arts centre. Ingleton, Dent, Wensleydale, famous for caves, waterfalls, and limestone scenery just 20 minutes away, Settle Carlisle Steam railway Dent Station 10 miles, and only 30 minutes to the Carnforth Steam Town railway museum. The two adjoining cottages are a recent conversion from a farm building and have been designed for all year occupancy with high insulation and double glazing. Both cottages have central heating and wood / multi fuel stoves. A large shared utility room contains an automatic washing machine, sink ,tumble dryer, deep freeze. Also avaialable table tennis table in adjoining barn. The Granary has a well equipped pine fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, etc Lounge with stove, dining table and comfortable chairs, colour TV, Sky Freeview and DVD. Bathroom with corner bath, w.c. and basin. Stairs leading out of the lounge to two bedrooms, one double bedroom with wash hand basin and there is room for an extra bed if required . The other with 3/4 size bed ( bunk above if required ) . Linen, duvets and pillows are provided, towels are available at extra charge. Electricity and heating are included in the rent . A cot is available. Other requirements may be available, please ask.
