This is the unspoilt Lake District so loved by William Wordsworth where you can enjoy a weekend break or short break all year round. This elegant country house is surrounded by fields and set in over an acre of lovely wooded gardens. It lies in the charming village of Lorton, a hidden gem with historic connections.
A wonderful Victorian property with antiques, log fires and quaint charm, The Old Vicarage at Lorton is an ideal place to unwind. Imagine afternoon tea in the sitting room looking out onto the garden or perhaps a malt whisky in front of a glowing fire on a cold winter's evening. All rooms have been tastefully refurbished and include a ground floor and a four-poster room. We aim to make your visit as enjoyable as possible and we really do like meeting people. We have a deserved reputation for providing a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. This is a stress free as well as a No-Smoking zone!

The resident's sitting room is perfect for relaxing with wonderful views of the garden and the fells beyond. The dining room faces east and looks out on Kirk Fell and Whinlatter and catches the early morning sun as it rises over the hills.
Dinner in the candlelit dining room is a true delight that many guests enjoy. It is a 5 course set menu that changes daily.There is also an excellent wine list that will not disappoint. Please book a day at least in advance of arrival
