This cosy period cottage retains many traditional features such as oak beams. It has recently been fully refurbished and provides very comfortable holiday accommodation for two. Situated in the centre of the village of Hornby just 7 miles from the South Lakes town of Kirby Lonsdale it is ideally located between the Lakes and the Dales. It makes a perfect base for exploring the local area where there are so many beautiful country walks.

Lake Windermere, Ambleside, the Langdale Valley, the Forest of Bowland, Skipton and the Dales National Park are all within 45/55mins drive. The stunning caves and waterfalls at Ingleton are very near and for bird watchers the Leighton Moss RSPB reserve is only 10 miles away. From junction 34 of the M6 motorway, which is only 7 miles from Hornby, the coastal towns of Lytham St Annes and Blackpool can be reached in 45 minutes, making this an excellent centre for Lakes, Dales and Coast. For the avid golfer, Kirby Lonsdale and Casterton offer excellent courses, ideal for visitors to take a few relaxing rounds whilst taking in the stunning scenery. Ballroom, sequence and Latin dancing is available in the village and at several local venues.

The ground floor of the property houses a lounge with sofa, easy chair, dining table and chairs and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a colour TV, DVD player, microwave and spin dryer at guests' disposal. On the first floor is the double bedroom and shower room with electric shower, hand basin and toilet.

Safe parking is available opposite the cottage and a small rear patio and furniture are provided,bicycles may be safely stored behind the cottage. All linen and towels are provided, electricity and heating is included. Small dogs are welcome. The village Pub,General store, post office and butchers shop are all within 500yds of Rose Cottage. Hornby is very well served by bus services to Lancaster, Ingleton and Kirkby Lonsdale with connecting services to Kendal
