River Cottage is a charming bed and breakfast nestled on the banks of the River Greta in Burton-in-Lonsdale. This unspoilt country village lies between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Park, a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas on foot or by car. The historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is just five miles away and is the gateway to the spectacular Lake District beyond, where visitors will discover a whole variety of outdoor activities.

Alternatively, the Dales town of Ingleton, with it caves and the Waterfalls Walk is just one mile away. Just a little further is the delightful village of Hawes and the picturesque Dent, characterised by its lovely cobbled streets. More locally visitors will findd fishing in the rivers, canoeing (water levels permitting), pony trekking, tennis and bowls. Whatever your reason for visiting the area, you can be guaranteed of a comfortable and enjoyable stay at River Cottage.
