A fine collection of self catering holiday cottages accommodating from two to ten guests in and around the Lake District town of Broughton-in-Furness. These traditional holiday cottages are ideal for those wishing to holiday in this more tranquil part of the English Lake District. In the historic market town of Broughton-in-Furness visitors can find a wide range of amenities including restaurants, butcher, baker and a grocery shop. In and around the town are a selection of excellent pubs offering good quality food alongside real ales and roaring fires.

If outdoor pursuits are more your thing then the Lake District will not disappoint. Leisure activities available within easy reach of all the cottages include golfing, canoeing, mountain biking, horse riding, rock climbing and fell walking while the coast is but a short drive away. There are many wonderful walks locally - with guides provided in each cottage. If it's full day classic walks you are after, try Scafell Pike from Wasdale, Coniston Old Man from Coniston village, Wetherlam from Tilberthwaite and Bowfell or Harrison Stickle from Langdale. There are also numerous attractions such as steam trains, wildlife parks, castles, stately homes and boat trips to enjoy in the area.

Rooms Description

Here at South Lakes Holiday Cottages we offer a variety of cottages to suit your needs, either within the historic village of Broughton in Furness or in the picturesque Duddon and Whicham valleys. Spring Bank sleeps up to 10 people in five bedrooms. Old Travellers’ Rest accommodates 8 in four rooms. Syke End cottage sleeps 7 in three rooms. Both Whicham Mill and 8 Copper Rigg sleep 4 in two rooms. Our Lowfield property is one bedded and sleeps 2.

Specialities

Children are welcome at all properties while pets can stay at Spring Bank and Syke End. All establishments are non-smoking. Weeks generally run Friday to Friday. Short breaks (Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday) are available throughout the year, except at peak periods such as the summer holidays. Last minute two night breaks can be booked at 8 Copper Rigg and Lowfield. All linen and towels provided as is initial fuel for the open fire at Spring Bank and log burning stoves at Syke End and Old Travellers’ Rest. A travel cot can be provided in each cottage on request.
