Directions

Knipe Hall is located in the rural Eden Valley, approximately 9 miles from Penrith and 4 miles from Shap. Take exit 39 on the M6 and turn right onto the A6 towards Shap. Drive through Shap heading north and turn left 100 yards after the Post Office following signs to Bampton and Haweswater and Shap Abbey. Take care on this road as it is narrow. Keep going for about 3.5 miles when you drop down into the village of Bampton Grange and take the first right hand turn signed Knipe by the playing field. Carry on along this road (again, it's narrow with lots of sheep so take care) for about a mile and look out for a turning with a cattle grid on the right hand side which is signed Knipe Hall - go right and the Hall is down the track.
