Bower Bank is the perfect place for a cosy, environmentally friendly holiday or short break. DALES WAY WALKERS VERY WELCOME. A former recording studio belonging, to Mike Harding the comedian, folk singer, writer and broadcaster, the barn is situated amidst outstanding natural beauty in the sleepy hamlet of Gawthrop, just one mile from the pretty village of Dent. Now converted into a beautiful self catering holiday home for between two and 10 people, with additional accommodation available in our nearby annexe. Although this is a self catering holiday home, freshly baked rolls and croissants included in the price are available daily. We also provide breakfast cereal, selection of teas, coffee, milk, sugar and jam, also included in the price.

Dent, south of Sedbergh is brimming with historic interest with its traditional cobbled streets and pink granite fountain. There is the Church of St Andrew dating back to the 12th Century that is well worth a visit, along with The Dent Heritage Centre and The Dent Brewery that produces award winning ales. Other nearby places of interest include Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Farfield Mill Arts & Heritage Centre, Low Sizergh barn, Museum of Lakeland Life, The Quaker Tapestry Exhibition and more. Guests can also venture out to Kirkby Lonsdale - a beautiful market town and Kendal - the southern gateway to the Lake District, to name just a couple.
