Set at the foot of the Howgill Fells and close to the source of the River Lune, these quality cottages have been tastefully converted from a stone barn attached to the 17th Century Farmhouse. All cottages are fully self contained and comfortably furnished and enjoy panoramic views across the Cumbrian countryside. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Moss Cottages make an excellent base for exploring both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Parks.
A wealth of activities and interests are available from the cottage including Hillwalking in the Howgills direct from your front door. Newbiggin is also located close to the coast to coast path. The nearby village of Ravenstonedale is worth a visit set in idyllic surroundings in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A wide range of outdoor pursuits are available as well as fishing on the River Eden, Bessy Beck Trout Fishery at Newbiggin, or maybe enjoy a round of Golf at the Riverside Golf Course or outdoor tennis at Ravenstonedale. Four miles away you'll find the market town of Kirkby Stephen with a great variety of shops, antiques, pubs, and restaurants. Moss Cottages offer the perfect base from which to tour the Dales or the Lakes or simply relax and enjoy that well earned break, the choice is yours.
Moss Cottages offer quality self catering accommodation for 2 to 4 people in a choice of three cottages. Nisthouse, sleeps 2 and comprises a twin bedded room, open plan lounge and fully fitted kitchen/diner area. All modern appliances and crockery and cutlery are included to create your delicious own meals. Colour TV and a selection of games, fully heated throughout with electricity, bedlinen, towels and tea towels included. Curlew sleeps 4 people and is on the lower level of the barn. Comprising double bedroom and a twin bedroom, shower room and open plan living room with TV, DVD and Video and fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Howgill sleeps 4 people and is situated on the upper level of the barn yet accessed via a ramp making it totally accessible. A double and a twin bedroom, open plan living area with TV, DVD and Video and fully equipped kitchen as above. Curlew and Howgill are accessible for disabled guests, see specialities. The large well stocked gardens are available for guests use.
