Rockside Guest House in Windermere was built in 1847 from Lakeland stone and now provides four star bed and breakfast in the Lake District. This unique guest house has now been fully modernised, perfectly combining period character and charm with all the comforts one would expect from accommodation of this standard. Rockside is situated at the head of Windermere village, just two minutes walk from the train and bus stations and within easy walking distance of the unique shops, friendly pubs and terrific restaurants. Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere are a mere twenty minute stroll away.
There are some fabulous walks to be found within easy reach of Rockside guest house including the walk to Orrest Head made famous by Alfred Wainwright, which starts just over the road from us. Wainwright was so inspired by the views along this walk that he was inspired to walk and write about all of the other Lakeland walks in his popular pictorial guides. At Rockside Guest House we believe breakfast to be the most important meal of the day and our varied menu has something for everyone, from the hearty Cumbrian breakfast to lighter bites and a range of vegetarian alternatives.
Rockside Guest House has eight luxurious en-suite guest rooms and two suites with separate lounge areas. All guest rooms are complete with colour TV, (some with dvd) hair dryer and refreshment trays as standard.
