Come and make yourself at home at our family run Inn, The Longlands. A traditional, bustling village hostelry, we make everyone feel welcome. We remain fiercely independent with no brewery or theme pub chain to tell us how to run things. This means that we can choose the very best beers and wines for our bar, the freshest ingredients for our menus and individual furnishings for each of our rooms. So come along and spend a while, relax with the papers or catch up with friends and let us tempt you with our friendly hospitality.

Longlands Inn and Restaurant is superbly located next to Tewitfield Locks on the Lancaster Canal. We are located just a mile from junction 35 of the M6 and are perfectly placed for days out to the Lakes, the Yorkshire Dales, the seaside at Morecambe and the hitoric city of Lancaster. The lovely market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is just 7 miles away, where you can enjoy an afternoon visiting the various boutiques and tearooms. If outdoor pursuits are your thing then there are opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, golf and clay pigeon shooting nearby.

Rooms Description

Our rooms are all designed individually with an eclectic mix of old and new. Some rooms have contemporary beds, others old fashioned brass bedsteads, Vi-Spring mattresses, bright new bathrooms piled high with fluffy white towels, televisions, and tea and fresh coffee provided by our local coffee merchant Atkinsons of Lancaster. Our Lapwing Rooms at the newer side of the Inn have views towards the new marina. They are larger, with bright airy windows and huge, comfortable beds to spread out in. Our Coach House rooms are in the higgledy piggledy old part of the Inn and although they are smaller they are full of charm with views over the fields

Perhaps you need bedrooms for your guests to stay in, for your wedding night or honeymoon. Like you, we want your wedding reception to be perfect, with your closest family and friends around you At The Longlands we will help you to create exactly the wedding reception you want – it may be reassuringly traditional or something a little different. We only hold one wedding at a time so there is no chance of you bumping into another bride in the loo, or your guests sitting down at the wrong reception. You can be sure of superb food, with plenty of ideas for vegetarians and those with special dietary needs. And we won’t forget your younger guests. We can put together a special meal just for them, an entertainer to keep them out of mischief and a baby-listening service when they've had enough of the excitement. And when you just can’t celebrate any more, you can retire to one of our eleven bedrooms or six cottages, tired but happy, and reminisce together about your wonderful day.
