Dovenby Ship is a Country Inn located on the outskirts of the market town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth and is ideally situated for touring the Lake District, and the Lake District Coast. Our bar offers guests a large assortment of wines and real ales together with a good selection of malt whiskies. The real ales change weekly, so there's plenty of choice.

The Dovenby Ship offers a wide selection of home cooked foods wherever possible, including our renowned home made chips - delicious. We always have a selection of vegetarian meals and a children's menu. Reduced portions are available for old age pensioners and children. We pride ourselves in the use of all local products and our Sunday lunch is our speciality and very popular. All our rooms are en-suite with a twin and double available with TV, Sky, Tea & Coffee making facilities in all rooms.
