Wayside Cottage is a Grade II listed, 4 star self-catering Lakeland cottage, ideally situated less than 20 minutes walk from Ambleside in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Clappersgate is a pretty hamlet with many of the district's finest walks from the door and pretty villages such as Hawkshead, Grasmere, Langdale and Coniston within a short drive. Dating from the early 17th century and having been recently completely renovated, Wayside Cottage combines traditional charm with modern, spacious comfort. Perfect as a walking base, the cottage is conveniently placed near shops, restaurants, pubs and the cinema in Ambleside.

Wayside sleeps up to six adults comfortably(in one double and two twin bedrooms). Full of charm and character, the cottage has numerous exposed oak beams and has been sympathetically furnished in character. Gas central heating and constant hot water are inclusive, and the property consists of entrance hall, which has a traditional floor of slate flagstones, giving access to the lounge, the spacious kitchen/dining room and the cloakroom. A padlocked log store is situated up the lane in front of the houses, with room to store bicycles. The washer-drier is situated in the cloakroom which leads to the ground floor toilet. There is also a telephone for incoming calls and reserved parking is available for two cars in a shared private car park, with further parking available nearby.
