The 35-acre Langdale Estate set in the heart of the English Lake District is a natural woodland haven with streams and tarns dotted with massive millstones and other carefully preserved reminders of its history as a 19th century gunpowder works. The Estate offers a choice of hotel, lodge and apartment accommodation, two restaurants, a traditional Lakeland pub and leisure facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool with bubble massage seat and dedicated swimming lane for the truly dedicated athlete.

Founded on the site of an abandoned 19th century gunpowder works, the Estate offers hotel accommodation with 57 en-suite luxury rooms. The rooms are village style located around the Estate with a few situated in the main hotel building. We have over 100 units, both Lodge and Apartment accommodation, for timeshare purchase and self-catering rental. The Estate also has four purpose built conference rooms, ideal for those hard working businesses. The exclusive Lake District Spa's has a swimming pool, fully equipped gymnasium and offers a full range of health and beauty treatments.

The bedrooms have been sympathetically renovated from original historic buildings with breathtaking views of the sparkling river, into luxurious accommodation whilst still retaining the character of this unique site. All rooms have en-suite facilities with shower over baths (certain rooms have deluxe Airbaths) remote control satellite TV/radio/alarm, direct dial telephone, trouser press, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities. This resort is one of the first in Europe to receive the coveted "FIVE CROWNS up to DELUXE" rating from the English Tourist Board. Each lodge is carefully positioned to give a high degree of privacy: some overlook waterways and ponds, other afford views of wooded glades or spectacular mountains.

With outstanding views from the spacious indoor swimming pool and twelve-person spa pool, it is a great place to wile away an hour or two. Or you can spend some quality time in the state-of-the-art sunarium with its combination of steam and heat that allows you to enjoy relaxing in this facility for far longer than the more traditional type of steam room or sauna.
