All of our contemporary styled rooms have recently been modernised. The owners have lived in the Lake District for many years and have excellent local knowledge, and are only too happy to help you plan your Lake District holiday. Other facilities and amenities include ironing facilities, secure bike storage and somewhere to dry your wet gear. Guests also benefit from free use of local leisure club facilities.

Hillsdale B&B is fully centrally heated for your comfort. Eight fully en-suite guest bedrooms are available for guests to choose from. We have flexible accommodation to cater for doubles, twins, families and singles. All rooms have remote control flat screen LCD TV's, hairdryers and radio alarms. There is always constant and plentiful hot water and complimentary trays including chocolate biscuits and beverages.

Ambleside is a superb central Lake District location with lots going on. Hillsdale is in the heart of Ambleside, so guests have easy access to a wealth of specialist shops, and a large number of good quality pubs and restaurants, including an excellent vegetarian restaurant. There are three cinemas, tennis courts, an in season crown green bowling green, pitch and putt, crazy golf, a playground and park, picnic areas and a tourist information centre.

Directions
From the South, leave M6 motorway at Junction 36, turn left onto the A591 & follow this road for approximately 18 miles, until you reach the traffic lights on the outskirts of Ambleside. At the lights, take the left fork and follow this road for approximately 1.5 miles until it becomes a two-lane, one-way street. Remain in the left hand lane and follow the road round to the left and then right. The road then becomes two lanes as you reach the shops, you need to be in the right hand lane. Turn right at the lights at the top of the road and follow this road down for a few hundred yards until you pass the White Lion pub on the left. Take the next turning on your right, which is Church Street and you will find Hillsdale on the right hand side, at the bottom of this street. From the North, take Junction 40, M6 motorway. Follow signs for Keswick, then the B5322 (St. Johns in the Vale) to Thirlmere and Grasmere and then Ambleside. Shortly after entering the heart of Ambleside you will pass the White Lion pub on the left. Take the next turning on your right, which is Church Street and you will find Hillsdale on the right hand side, at the bottom of this street. By Public transport, Windermere is the closest station (5 miles). At Windermere station you can either take the '555' bus heading towards Keswick, or you can take a taxi through to Hillsdale.
