Lake Windermere and its cruise ships are also just a ten minute stroll away. There are many attractions within easy reach of Ferndale, including Holker Hall and Gardens, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway, The world of Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth's Dove Cottage. For the more energetic Ambleside is also well located for hillwalking in the Central Fells or exploring hidden villages by bicycle.

Ferndale Lodge B&B offers a choice of single, double and twin rooms, all of which are fully en-suite. Each is equipped with colour TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The west facing rooms have wonderful views of the surrounding fells. Ground floor and detached bungalow rooms are available. There is ample parking for guests at the lodge. Before setting out on a day's exploration of the area's many sights, enjoy a hearty breakfast in the lovely dining room. Start with cereals and fruit juice before moving on to a full English breakfast. Vegetarian and lite bite options are available should you prefer.
