Brathay Lodge is a traditional English Lake District property originally built in 1890. The property has been totally refurbished in a contemporary style which is fairly unique to the area and combines high class accommodation with an informal atmosphere. Brathay Lodge is situated in central Ambleside and is within easy reach of a number of restaurants and pubs. Our guests have the benefit of a private off road parking where they can leave their vehicle before exploring Ambleside and the local areas.

Ambleside is an ideal Lake District holiday location, former home to Wordsworth, Rankin & Beatrix Potter. We are situated ten minutes from Lake Windermere, with gift shops, attractive walks, lake cruises and active water sports. Around Ambleside there are numerous local scenic walks and places to visit: The houses of Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, The Grizedale Forest, Numerous National Trust properties including Castlerigg Stone circle and Rheged visitor centre to mention just a few. We are near crazy golf and full golf courses as well as offering free use of Langdale Country Club’s leisure facilities

Rooms Description

We have 19 rooms available all with king size beds, these are made up of standard, superior (pet friendly), twin, triple, family rooms (sleeps 3-5) and four poster suites. All rooms are en-suite with Jacuzzi spa bath and shower over, tea & coffee making facilities and colour t.V's. A variety of family rooms have a king size and two single beds with ¾ partition wall with external balcony access. The Four Poster suites overlook the front with wonderful Lakeland views across to the churchyard and fells beyond.
