We've been listed in the Good Food Guide for 38 years and have 1 AA red rosette. Short Breaks are offered all year round with discounted rates available in November, December, February and March. At Christmas and New Year the hotel offers traditional House Parties with a 3-night 'Festive Gap' break between the 2. At Rothay Manor, dining is treated as an experience to be savoured to the full and the hotel has a longstanding reputation for fine dining. The menu is varied and meals are prepared and served to the highest of standards with flair and imagination. The Hotel is widely acclaimed in all the major guides for its culinary expertise, and has a personally compiled wine list with comprehensive coverage of all the wine regions of the world. The Dining Room itself is spacious with tables laid in a classical style.
Rothay Manor offers 16 individually appointed bedrooms, all en-suite, and 3 suites - 2 of which are in the grounds of the hotel approximately 25 metres from the main building. Our range of accommodation suits all needs, from singles to families. Families are welcome with rooms and suites available. Each luxurious room has fully appointed en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower, colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, radio and telephone. All are individually designed and furnished in a comfortable, stylish manner in keeping with the Manor's exacting standards. Standard double rooms have a minimum 5 ft queen size beds, while twin rooms have full size (3ft) single beds. Most of the superior rooms are at the front of the hotel and have a balcony with a delightful view across the garden to Wansfell, with one in the new wing having a private terrace. All superior rooms have a 6ft bed or 2 x 3' singles. If you're looking for extra privacy and space, why not opt for one of the suites. The Loughrigg Suite has 2 bedrooms (double & twin), spacious separate lounge, en-suite bathroom with roll-in shower, private terrace and parking right outside the door. The Wansfell Suite has a through lounge / bedroom, en-suite bathroom with bath and extra-large shower, and private parking outside. The Fairfield Suite is in the new wing of the hotel and has separate lounge, master bedroom with en-suite bath and shower and a small bedroom with 2 single beds, one of which is a bunk reached by a short ladder. All suites have a fridge and bathrobes are provided.
Disabled guests are welcome at Rothay Manor, where one Ground Floor bedroom and the Loughrigg Suite in the grounds have been specially adapted for wheelchair use in accordance with National Accessible Scheme Category 2 guidelines. There is a dedicated disabled access at the side of the hotel, or alternatively the main hotel entrance has just one step from the car park into reception, for which a ramp is available. Once inside there is level access to reception, the lounges and the dining room. There is a dedicated Disabled Car Parking space close to the entrance. Honeymooners will love Rothay. Stay a minimum of 2 nights and receive a complimentary 'Celebration Package' (chocolates and a bottle of Champagne) to share during your stay. Guests at Rothay Manor can enjoy free use of the Low Wood Leisure Club just 1.5 miles from the hotel. The Lesiure Club has an indoor heated swimming pool with children's paddling pool, steam room, sauna, spa pool and well-equiped gym. Squash courts and beauty treatments are available at the Leisure Club by prior arrangement. For meetings and small conferences, we specialise in small informal meetings of up to 22 people where the emphasis is on comfort, relaxation, good food and wine. Our popular four-day Christmas House Party has been a tradition at Rothay Manor for almost 30 years, and from the many guests who return it is evident that our efforts to make Christmas that little bit extra-special are appreciated. Special Interest Holidays on a variety of themes are offered between October and May.
