The Old Vicarage is a 4 star quality bed and breakfast in central Ambleside. Guests can expect charming elegance and superb leisure facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool in this gracious Victorian residence. The guest house is located in a quiet but convenient corner of Ambleside within easy reach of Ambleside's many restaurants, specialist shops, inns and the excellent Armitt Museum and Gallery. This is an ideal base for walking, cycling, sailing or sightseeing. Guests have access to our Indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and hot tub, plus the roof top terrace and plenty of car parking within the wooded grounds. Peacefully situated in its own grounds, the Old Vicarage is a spacious Victorian house of great charm and character, with views over Rothay Park to the fells beyond and situated away from normal street noise. Perfect for relaxation and romantic weekend breaks.

The public rooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard. There is a large lounge with open fire, also a piano and a small snooker table. The dining room is elegant and spacious with a large breakfast menu to suit all tastes. Well-behaved dogs are always welcome, as are families, children and babies. We offer a full English breakfast menu including cereals, fruit juices, yoghurts, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, baked beans, hash browns, mushrooms, and eggs either poached, scrambled, boiled or fried. There's a cold choice & a vegetarian alternative. Toast, marmalade and jams, various teas,coffees and hot chocolate.

Rooms Description

All bedrooms are beautifully furnished and decorated. There are double, twin and family rooms & junior suites. All double rooms have king size beds, some have spa baths and some rooms are on the ground floor.(Wet-Room?Spa-Bath?Walk-in Shower?) Rooms have colour television, DVD, video recorder, CD player, alarm clock, radio, hairdryer, kettle, mini-fridge, central heating and ensuite bath/shower and WC. A wide selection of videos & dvds are available for guests' use, free of charge. Wireless broadband connection is now available. Choose one of our four poster/deluxe bedrooms or a junior suite with it's own sitting room for a romantic break in the central Lake District.
