The Crow How Country House Hotel in Ambleside is a fine Victorian building originally built as a farm house from the stones of the ancient Rydal Hall. The hotel is located in two and a half acres of private woodland gardens and is surrounded by the Fairfield Horseshoe and Loughrigg Fell. We are superbly located just a half mile from Ambleside and ten minutes drive from Grasmere. Keswick, Windermere, Kendal, Coniston and Hawkshead are all easily accessed within half an hour. Waterhead is just a twenty minute walk away, where you can catch frequent boat trips to Bowness and Lakeside.

The hotel is ideally located for major mountains and walks and there is a variety of walking books and leaflets at the accommodation for your perusal. There are a wide selection of walks within east reach suitable for all levels of ability. At breakfast we offer a choice of cereals and fruits along with a Cumbrian style breakfast, what better way to start the day! We also offer dinner menu with two or three choices for each course, along with a choice of coffee, tea or speciality drinks to be enjoyed in the lounge or snug.
