Lancrigg's timeless charm comes from its unrivalled position overlooking the serene valley of Easedale. Half a mile from Grasmere village, one can walk from the front door into the magical splendour of the English Lake District. Steeped in history, Lancrigg became a meeting place for the Romantic Poets and William Wordsworth wrote his prelude in the woods. The Green Valley Organic Cafe & Vegetarian Restaurant at Lancrigg is now a fully certified 'organic' restaurant. It is open from 8.30am to 8.30pm. for breakfast, coffee, lunch, teas and evening meals. The food is freshly prepared using the finest ingredients, with an emphasis on international vegetarian cuisine. Most of the dishes have vegan alternatives. Special diets, eg gluten free, dairy free & sugar free are all available. There is an extensive selection of organic wines, beers and unusual spirits.
