The guesthouse is located in a quiet spot just on the edge of the village with superb views accross the River Rothay, and out to the fells such as Silver How and the fells around Easdale Tarn. Grasmere is perfect for walkers, offer easy access to fells such as Helm Crag, Silver How and challenging Helvellyn. For a lighter stroll choose a walk around Grasmere lake or along Loughrigg Terrace which offer some stunning views. The guesthouse is non-smoking, and does not allow children. A private Lounge is available for our guests, with a selection of books and magazines. Expect an extensive choice at breakfast, which is served in the delightful Dining Room. Evening meals are available by prior arrangement. All our food is freshly prepared using only the best ingredients and local wherever possible.
All our three guesthouse bedrooms are beautifully furnished to a high standard. The twin room has an en-suite bathroom, whilst the standard double room has an en-suite shower. The deluxe room has a king size bed, a large seating area and an en-suite bathroom. Hospitality trays, electric blankets, colour TVs with radio, hairdryers and toiletries are all provided, and the house is centrally heated throughout. With Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount in close proximity, Grasmere was also a favourite spot for William and Dorothy Wordsworth. They are now buried beneath the yew trees in St Oswald's 13th Century churchyard.
