Lake View Country House is a four diamond, gold award Lakeland stone house,and has also been recognised in the Michelin Guide. Situated in a beautiful and quiet location at the end of a private lane, within the village of Grasmere, Lake View has a large lakeland garden, with rhododendrons, azaleas and garden furniture for your use as well as enjoying one of the finest aspects in Grasmere. It also benefits from ample car-parking space for guests and private access to the lakeshore.

We have four bed and breakfast rooms, 2 are suites and all have en-suite facilities,2 with whirlpool baths and all have power showers.There are also three self-catering apartments, all located within the house. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and we welcome children of all ages to our holiday apartments, however we do not cater for children under the age of six on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Guests have the option of a full cooked breakfast, vegetarian or continental, together with a selection of home made compotes,home made yoghurt and fruits and cereals. Given a little notice, we will be happy to cater for most dietary requirements.
Rooms Description
Our four guest bedrooms, have their own individual style,some having whirlpool baths and all have en-suite facilities,flat screen tv's tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryers, foot spas,thick fluffy towels, fridges and many other personal touches.We can also offer WiFi access. All of the rooms are centrally heated and the bathrooms also have heated towel rails. We regret to say that single rooms are not available. During the main season, from April through to November, the apartments are let on a weekly basis only, from Saturday to Saturday. , all of which have baths and power showers and have their own central heating system. 'Daffodil' is a cosy second floor apartment and the largest of the three, sleeping four people. 'Bluebell' is situated on the first floor. This bright and sunny compact two person apartment offers stunning views towards Grasmere lake. 'Azalea' is our very popular ground floor apartment for two people, with its own private access, parking space and, in the summer season, outdoor seating.

Directions
From the M6 travelling north, take the junction 36 exit, sign-posted Kendal and South Lakes Follow the A591 to Windermere, Ambleside and on to Grasmere. Approaching the mini-roundabout, turn left into the village on Stock Lane. Go past a car park on your right and soon you will see the first shop of the village on your left. Slow right down and turn sharp left at the corner of the shop. You are now in Lake View Drive and will find us at the end. From the M6 travelling south, take the junction 40 exit, sign-posted Penrith and Keswick. Follow signs to Keswick. After 14 miles, take the turning on the left sign-posted Windermere, which takes you through St. John's in the Vale and joins the A591. Turn left and continue until you reach Grasmere. On approaching Grasmere you will pass The Travellers Rest, public house and The Swan Hotel, carry on until you come to a mini-roundabout and turn right on to Stock Lane. Go along this road, passing a car park on your right, you will then approach the first shop of the village, you will need to slow right down and turn sharp left. Go along this private lane and we are at the end.
