The historic Three Shires Inn is superbly set in the south facing side of the peaceful valley of Little Langdale. We're perfect for walkers, surrounded by the rugged splendour of the English Lake District hills and mountains. This small and friendly inn was built in 1872 and has been family run by the Stephenson family since 1983. We're conveniently placed just 5 miles to the west of Ambleside and north of Coniston. Special guided walking holidays can be arranged for groups. These can include full dinner, bed and breakfast, packed lunches, a Lakeland film show and guided walks tailored to the requirements of your party.
We serve lunch every day from 12-2pm. A delightful landscaped garden by a Lakeland stream is the ideal place to eat, drink or simply relax, while enjoying the views over the Tilberthwaite fells. We are the perfect lunch or beer or afternoon tea stop on many circular low level walks in the Langdale and Skelwith areas. Evening meals are served in both the bars and restaurant. Bar meals are from 6-8.45pm, and dinner between 7 and 8pm. Our chefs use fresh local produce to create a varied choice of starters, main courses and delicious home made desserts. A 3 course menu is served each evening as well as a wider choice available on the à la carte bar menu . Reservations can be made for the restaurant between 6 and 8pm, and for the snug bar from 6-8.45 pm.
