Just 5 miles from the market town of Cockermouth, this friendly B&B offers charming bed and breakfast accommodation with the option to take evening meals. An ideal base for walking the many footpaths in this area or exploring the unspoilt beaches by the Solway Firth. Perfect for those wishing to discover the Lake District or those heading North to explore Hadrian's Wall or Scotland. There is ample private parking and a warm welcome is given to motorcyclists for whom there is safe bike storage.

The Manor House B&B is perfect for those wishing to discover the Lake District or those heading North to explore Hadrian's Wall or Scotland. Cockermouth is just 5 miles away and is a beautiful Georgian market town on the edge of the Lake District and home of Wordsworth House. Amidst award winning architecture, a rich local heritage and delightful landscape setting, there is a wide variety of activities for visitors. The town's broad medieval Main Street features a range of local shops and pubs including antique shops and small galleries. Cockermouth Castle, open for pre booked visits only during Cockermouth's festival each July, dominates the eastern end of the town. The castle is best viewed by taking a lovely stroll along the banks of the River Derwent. In the shadow of the castle is Jennings Brewery - a tour includes a sample of their fine real ales. The Lake District is one of England's most beautiful and picturesque National Parks and offers the visitor a huge range of walking, cycling, fishing and outdoor opportunities.

The Manor House offers a choice of ensuite rooms complete with both bath and shower. Rooms are light and extremely spacious and boast kingsize beds, tea/coffee making, luxury toiletries and superb views over open countryside and onto the mountains of the Lake District. For a romantic weekend, there is a beautiful four poster bed available. After a restful nights sleep, awake to a freshly prepared hearty breakfast, read the paper in the sun lounge or take a stroll around the garden. Well behaved pets are welcome at The Manor House and motorcyclists have a secure lock up for their bikes and drying facilities. We also have 3 static caravans for hire (adults only).

We are an ideal place to stay for motorcycle tourists. Our spacious rooms have plenty of storage for all your gear and your bike will be well cared for in a secured lock-up. We have drying facilities for that odd occasion when it rains!
