The house was once home to William Marshall, the Earl of Pembroke and founder of the historic 12th cent. Cartmel Priory. The property oozes character and still retains many original features including its magnificent exposed oak beams and crackling fires. We are ideally located in the unspoilt Vale of Cartmel, perfect for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of the city! Here you can take in stunning views of the lush countryside. From the manor you can visit both the English Lake District or the nearby coast. A short 3-4 mile journey takes you to either Newby Bridge and the south of Lake Windermere or to the quaint Grange Over Sands. The surrounding area boasts charming shops and boutiques, and numerous restaurants to sample.

The Anysnome Manor Hotel has a wonderful and charming restaurant which has received an AA Rossette for its exquiste food. With a Candlelight dinning room, Dinner is available from Monday to Saturday and Lunch on a Sunday. A Buffet Dinner is available for residents only on a Sunday.
