Somerset House provides Excellent Guest House accommodation in Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria, a pleasant and peaceful seaside resort, on the edge of the Lake District. Somerset House was built in 1882 as a 'posting' establishment, run by a John Dibble from Somerset. Small horse drawn carriages provided a local bus service, distributing passengers who arrived either by long distance carriage or later by train. Somerset House was used for accommodation and refreshment as it still is today. Providing a Fully Licenced Bar, Large Car Park (50 metres), 3-course Dinner & Bar meals (Special Diets caters for) & Secure Bicycle Storage. Somerset House welcomes Children, half price, under 14, sharing & Dogs by arrangement. There is also French spoken and we are open every day, all year round.

We are within three minutes walk of the promenade and shops. There are many beauty spots and places of interest nearby and Grange has marvellous views over Morecambe Bay. Lake Windermere with all its leisure facilities is only 20 minutes drive away. Here on the tip of the Cartmel Peninsula, an elegant mile long promenade extends the length of the town and overlooks the vast sandy reaches of Morecambe bay.In summer the pavements and railings are festooned with displays of fine art, local photography and handicrafts.
