Platform 9, with restaurant, is a charming historic old railway now offering guests luxury B&B guesthouse accommodation full of character. We're perfectly located for Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk, and the beautiful St Bees blue flag beaches. Expect log fires, a candle lit restaurant, eggs the guesthouse's own hens, and warm and cosy heated bathrooms. The current owners has been at Platform 9 for 22 years, so expect also the highest standards of service and experience. The restaurant and guest home is set in the old railway station which once housed the ticket office, waiting rooms and station master's living accommodation. There's plenty of railway memorabilia for train enthusiasts, as well as a fully licenced bar and open fire to welcome you. The B&B is renowned for excellent cuisine. Choose from an a la carte menu, a set menu and fondues. We use fresh local ingredients including vegetables and herbs grown in our own gardens. Relax and enjoy our new addition, a Tapas menu, which is served on Tuesday to Friday evenings from 6.00 p.m. The restaurant is open every evening and has full disabled facilities and is child friendly. Wine and dine to your hearts content in the knowledge that your accommodation is just upstairs! The floor above the restaurant boasts 3 immaculately decorated guest rooms. We also cater for small functions, seating up to 60 for weddings, christenings and business meetings.

All our luxury bedrooms are fully equipped with direct dial telephones, laptop points, shaving points, hairdryers, tv and video, writing desks/dressing tables, tea/coffee facilities, alarm radios, attic style single room with original wooden beams and double bed. En-suite bathrooms have corner baths and a large shower with body jets. Guests have use of a fax facility, our in-house restaurant of course, and a fully licensed bar. We offer a full breakfast with early breakfast option, and room service. Enjoy relaxing times in our guest lounge. We also have a guest house computer. Ample car parking is available, and the B&B has easy access to public transport, with the Rail station and bus stop directly outside.
