Ghyll Stile Mill self-catering holiday cottage is ideally located at the foot of the Howgill Fells, near Sedbergh in Cumbria. The holiday cottage makes a perfect walker base, and is fully equipped with full central heating. There is room for 4 people plus a 5th in an occasional bed. Our English Tourism Council 3 star rating reflects the high standards of the cottage. On the ground floor there is an entrance porch, perfect for walking boots and children's wellies. The entrance hall leads to a sitting/dining room with low beams, open fire and french doors leading into rear garden. There is a small kitchen with a door leading onto a grassed patio overlooking a little stream. Filtered local spring water is serviced to the property, and this is absolutely crystal clear and tastes beautiful! Oil fired central heating and electricity are included in the rent and bed linen is provided. We welcome children and a cot (with bedding and linen), high chair, baby bath, stair safety gates and a changing mat are all available, as are indoor and outdoor toys for children. A hod of coal and loads of logs are provided free of charge for the open fire. One or two well-behaved pets are welcome, and two dog baskets are available, one large and one small.
You'll be welcomed with a starter box of groceries, and for those guests requiring it there is a dog-walking service available free of charge for 2 half-hour walks a day by arrangement. Outdoor activity taster sessions for children or adults in climbing, gorge-walking, cycling (tandems for blind visitors) and camping with a fully qualified instructor are also available. The holiday cottage is all non-smoking for the comfort of our guests. Facilities downstairs in the holiday cottage include electric cooker, microwave, fridge, electric kettle, toaster, electric coffee percolator, deep freeze in attached outbuilding (shared with owners), automatic washing machine, iron, ironing board, colour TV and a small radio. All the comforts of home!
