Orchard House is a superbly placed B&B guesthouse in the heart of Wordsworth country. The guesthouse is a detached country house set within three quarters of an acre of mature gardens. The position is conveniently between the market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth, and within easy reach are the West coastal Georgian harbour towns of Whitehaven and Maryport. Close by are Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake. This quieter corner of the Lake District offers a wealth of attractions and amenities ranging from underground quarries and mines to paragliding, hot air ballooning, walking, climbing, cycling, mountain biking and bird-watching.
