Meadow Bank Guest House lies in the heart of the unspoilt North Western Lake District, at the foot of Whinlatter Pass, just eight miles from the popular market town of Keswick. We are located just a few miles from the lakes of Crumockwater, Loweswater, Buttermere Bassenthwaite, Ennerdale and Derwentwater, all of which offer the visitor breathtaking scenery and and some sailing and fishing. Nearby Whinlatter Forest Park is ideal for nature lovers and has a variety of walks for all to enjoy. A variety of birds and animals call this area home and visitors to the park can often see ospreys and red squirrels, among others.

The guest house is located in the village of Lorton and on each side of the local Boon Beck bridge are buildings that were once used by the Jennings family at the beginning of their brewery. The Jennings moved to Cockermouth at the beginning of the nineteenth century and their famous ales are still brewed there today. With so much to see and do in the locality, you are sure to want to start the day on a full stomach. A full English or continental breakfast is served in our lovely dining room with views to Kirkfell and beyond.
