Rowling End, whilst secluded, is at the heart of the Northern Lakes within easy distance whether on foot, bicycle or car from Borrowdale, Derwentwater, Keswick and Buttermere. Rowling End House and Mouse House are set in private grounds in the Newlands Valley, near Keswick in Cumbria, the Lake District. The cottages face Catbells and Maiden Moor, and Newlands beck runs through the grounds. They both offer very high quality self catering holiday accommodation, with the main house sleeping 8 and the Mouse House sleeping 2. The cottages can be booked separately or together, providing large self catering for up to 10 people.

This is a beautiful scenic part of the Lake District and both properties provide an ideal base for your Lakeland holiday in a perfect setting. There is much to do over your stay from walking, cycling and fishing to socialising in the local bar and restaurant which is just a short walk from the cottages. For walkers the great joy of Rowling End is the ability to walk from the house, whether you are looking for a full days hiking across the tops of the mountains or a gentle stroll around the valley or down to the lake. Where ever you decide to explore, the views are truly magnificent.
Rooms Description
Rowling End House is a 5* property and has 4 bedrooms, 2 king size doubles with en suite bathrooms and 2 twins, an additional large family bathroom with shower and roll top free standing bath. There are two lounges to relax in with open fires, logs supplied and TV with DVD player. The kitchen/dining area is fully fitted with American style fridge/freezer. Outside the cottage there is a storage shed for the logs and a storage shed for bikes. The Mouse House is 4* and includes a top floor bedroom with zip bed to be made into either a twin or a king sized double. There is an open plan living area, fully fitted kitchen and large shower room.

DIRECTIONS TO ROWLING END Leave the motorway at junction 40, sign posted A66 Penrith. Follow the A66 west towards Workington and the West/North lakes and proceed towards Keswick. Bypass Keswick and take the left turning to Portinscale/Newlands Valley, continue through Portinscale past the Marina. After approximately 1.5 miles, turn right towards Swinside/Stair/Newlands Valley/Buttermere. Pass by the Swinside Inn and further down the road you will pass by the Newlands Adventure Centre on your left and over a small bridge and through the Hamlet of Stair. Follow the road up the incline by Stair Mill on your left at the top of the junction you will arrive at Ellas Crag B&B go straight on for 200 yards and you will arrive at Rowling End gate on the left hand side, go down the drive into the grounds and you will come to Rowling End.
