Dale Head Hall is a magnificent 16th Century property situated at the head of Thirlmere, with superb views of the lake to the front and magnificent Helvellyn to the rear. This is a truly magical and romantic setting, ideally placed for exploring the surrounding Lake District towns and villages of Keswick and Grasmere, among many others. There are ample opportunities for walking and cycling in the Lake District fells, or you can wander through the majestic gardens on the lake shore and take in the spectacular views of one of the Lake District's most famous peaks, Helvellyn.

The restaurant of Dale Head Hall Lakeside Hotel has been awarded two AA rosettes for cuisine and is the perfect place for a romantic dinner or celebration with friends. Our delicious meals are created by the kitchen brigade using the finest of locally sourced produce and prepared with fine attention to detail. Our interesting menu is accompanied by a list of around ninety or so wines which include some old favourites as well as some New World greats. Some of these are sold by the glass, others by the half bottle and still others by the full bottle only. The hotel is the ideal place to enjoy the Lake District at any time of year, with the ever changing backdrop brought about by the changing seasons.

Rooms Description

Dale Head Hall Lakeside Hotel dates back to the 16th Century and as such the luxurious guest rooms are very different in style and character. Our Standard Rooms are in the Elizabethan or Victorian wing of the house and have oak beams in addition to other period features. The views from each make the very most of the spectacular location. Our Superior Lakeside Rooms are ideal for that special occasion and furnished with either king size or twin beds, enjoying magnificent views of the gardens and Lake Thirlmere. A selection of Four Poster Rooms are also available, perfect for romantic Lake District breaks. The Terrace Suite has French doors leading to a private terrace overlooking the lake and, being on the ground floor, is well suited to those with limited mobility.
