The village is set at the north westerly tip of Derwentwater and is overlooked by Skiddaw, Cat Bells and Causey Pike. The attractive market town of Kewsick lies within easy walking distance and here the visitor will find a wide range of amenities, including shops, restaurants and pubs. Portinscale is the ideal holiday base for lovers of watersports and the local boat club and marina has wind surfing and canoeing facilities. There are numerous footpaths leading from Rickerby Grange to the fells beyond, perfect walking country.

Rickerby Grange Country Guest House is fully licensed and our attractive bar is well stocked. The bar and lounge areas are the perfect place to unwind at the end of a day spent exploring the many delights of the surrounding area. A four course table d'hote menu is available daily in the dining room and all food is freshly prepared using only locally sourced, fresh ingredients wherever possible. Non residents are also welcome to dine at Rickerby Grange and our Sunday roast dinners are proving to be particularly popular. There are a whole host of reasons that make this the ideal place to visit at any time but we are the ideal base for those visiting the Keswick Jazz Festival, Keswick Mountain festival, Keswick Beer Festival and the Theatre by the Lake.
