Nestling beneath the forest and looking out over green fields to the magnificent mountain scenery of Skiddaw and the Helvellyn range, Beckstones is peacefully situated off the beaten track and within a short stroll of Bassenthwaite Lake. Dating from the 1730s, our Georgian farmhouse offers visitors interesting features from past times, combined with modern comforts. Beckstones offers friendly, relaxed bed and breakfast accommodation. In our beamed dining room we serve a hearty English breakfast using local produce. Our guest lounge has a T.V and a good selection of books, walking guides and games. The dining room, lounge and three of the bedrooms overlook the colourful garden and splendid valley and mountain scenery.

Guests at Beckstones Farm enjoy the idealistic location. It is perfect for walking or cycling along scenic routes right from the front door or venture to Whinlatter Forest. Alternatively guests can spend a day in Keswick, Grassmere, Ambleside and Windermere to see the quaint village shops and restaurants. A little further away and you can visit the museums and castles of Carlisle. If you enjoy birdwatching there is an RSPB bird hide just a 10 minute walk along Bassenthwaite Lake from our front door!

Rooms Description

Enter the house through a timber porch and climb the elegant staircase to the guest bedrooms. Our bedrooms are restfully decorated in pastel shades with interesting textiles. All have tea and coffee making facilities and are centrally heated, most have ensuite bathrooms.

Specialities

Beckstones Farmhouse is happy to accept pets by prior arrangement. There is ample room for car parking. Bikes, canoes and equipment can be locked away in outbuildings.
