This is an elegant, traditional Lakeland slate residence which has been recently refurbished throughout yet still retains many of the building's original features. There are a great many outdoor activities to be enjoyed in the area around Keswick including some beautiful walks, climbing, abseiling, paragliding, pony trekking, mountain biking and fell running. Alternatively, why not take in the beauty of the surrounding fells from the ferry on Derwentwater which drops at the starting point of some wonderful local walks. The abundance of wildlife around Keswick is really quite astounding. Everything from the more common Mallard and tits to the rarer Peregrine or Tree Creeper can be spotted in the vicinity. Occasionally, herds of deer can be seen on the fells or red squirrels in the surrounding woodland. Wildlife enthusiasts are sure to enjoy a trip to the Whinlatter Visitor Centre where it is possible to view a pair of Ospreys who have returned to the same nest here since 2001, raising a total of eight chicks to date.

Rooms Description

Tarn Hows B&B has four en-suite double bedrooms, two single en-suites and two double bedrooms with a luxurious private bathroom each. All rooms have been recently refurbished to a high standard and are complete with flat screen TVs, clock radio, hair dryer and hospitality trays as well as complementary toiletries. Most guest rooms are situated at the front of the property and enjoy views out towards Walla Crag.

Breakfast is served daily in the elegant dining room where guests are welcome to help themselves to the various starters on offer whilst their cooked breakfast of choice is being freshly prepared. We source local, fresh produce including free range eggs and award winning locally made sausages. Vegetarian and lighter continental options are also available.
