Ferndene Guest House is situated in stunning Keswick on Derwentwater amidst the spectacular northern fells of the Lake District National Park. Ferndene is owned and run by Christine and Richard, who look forward to greeting you with a warm welcome as you arrive at this charming, recently refurbished Victorian property. There are six tastefully decorated and colour co-ordinated guest rooms, three with en-suite facilities and three with magnificent views sharing two bathrooms, one with a full size bath. There is also a deluxe suite with its own lounge, bedroom, bathroom and panoramic mountain views, perfect for a couple seeking comfort and privacy and ideal for longer stays. All rooms have been equipped with everything that you would need to make your stay relaxing and comfortable, including new digital flat screen TVs. Guests can look forward to a delicious Cumbrian breakfast each day, made from local produce.

Keswick is a small market town with a variety of shops, museums, art and craft galleries, a cinema, two large public parks and the well known Theatre by the Lake. Ferndene is a just a ten minute walk to the lakeshore where you can hire a rowing boat or a motor boat or you can go to nearby Friar's Crag with its beautiful views, climbing wall, leisure pool, tennis and bowls. Keswick and the surrounding villages offer excellent pubs, restaurants and cafes as well as plenty of places to visit, including Honister Slate Mine, Jennings Brewery, Puzzling Place, Cars of the Stars Museum and many more.

Rooms Description

There are three en-suite rooms comprising of one double with comfortable seating area, one double and a flexible roomthat can be converted to a twin room/large kingsize. These rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, colour LCD television, radio/alarm clock and a refreshment tray. All rooms have bath sheets and hand towels. Our standard rooms have the use of a bathroom across the landing and include two double rooms and one double that can be converted into a twin. The standard rooms are equipped with bathrobes, a hairdryer, a colour television, a radio/alarm clock and a refreshment tray. Our Deluxe Suite is located on the top floor and comprises of a large and comfortable bedroom with kingsize bed, a spacious and tastefully furnished lounge with colour television and DVD player and a newly fitted en-suite bathroom a shower. All bathrooms have shower gel and bubble bath for your use.

Specialities

Ferndene Guest House use local and Fair Trade produce whenever possible. Vegetarian breakfasts are offered and special diets can be catered for. Packed lunches are available on request. Guests can have use of wireless Internet connection in the main house and a private car park is availabl for 5 cars.
