The Highfield Restaurant has been awarded for culinary excellence two coveted AA Rosettes; Highfield is the only restaurant in the town of Keswick to hold these awards. The menu changes daily and is imaginatively prepared using the best local produce with choices on all courses.
Rooms Description
The Highfield has 18 bedrooms, all well-decorated and maintained. All ensuite, the rooms offers views out over the local surroundings, including views of Lake Derwentwater and the Borrowdale and Newlands valley. Why not check out the Woodford Room, an exceptionally large former chapel which has now been refurbished to a high standard with some beautiful antique furniture. The mahogany, hand carved bed is a super king size, perfect for those looking for a romantic weekend away.

The hotel incorporates many features for which the Victorians were famous – balconies, turrets, bay windows, a veranda for your pre-dinner drink and a converted chapel. All have been thoughtfully restored and refurbished to offer the highest quality hotel accommodation yet still maintain the original homely feeling. Directions
From the M6 Motorway: Take the A66 West, signposted Keswick, for about 17 miles. As you approach Keswick, ignore the first signs from the A66 and go on to the second which is at a roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout and go to the end of the road, then left at the T-junction and right at the mini-roundabout, signposted 'Borrowdale'. Follow this road round to the left and you will see The Heads shortly on your right. For the car park, immediately after you turn into The Heads, turn right again behind the Hazeldene Hotel and keep going until you see the sign for our car park. From the Central Lakes: You will be coming into Keswick on the A591 down a steep hill. Follow the road into the town until you reach the mini-roundabout. Turn left right at the mini-roundabout, signposted 'Borrowdale'. Follow this road round to the left and you will see The Heads shortly on your right. For the car park turn into The Heads, turn right again behind the Hazeldene Hotel and keep going until you see the sign for our car park.) By Public Transport: There is a daily coach service to Keswick and we are just a few minutes walk from the local bus station. The nearest railway station is Penrith (17 miles) with a regular bus service to Keswick. Alternatively we can arrange a taxi for you.
