Tucked into the hillside of beautiful Matterdale, guests can expect sublime silence and peace, combined with easy access to nearby bustling Keswick, just 15 minutes away. The cottage sleeps 2'`6 people and is situated exactly halfway between Keswick and Penrith with easy access to Ullswater (5 Mins away) and Patterdale (10 Mins away). Guests can enjoy our private 22 acre woodland and famous Aire beck and waterfall, and superb Fell walking is just outside the cottage door!

The cottage is exquisitely appointed with a large homely kitchen, the heart of the cottage with sofa and Aga and the traditional cottage sitting room with open fire. Central heating is throughout and there is a spacious dining area. The Large sitting room and dining area dates back to the 17th century and is full of character, charm and warmth. With a traditional range used until the 1950s for cooking, boiling the water and heating the bread oven. There is Sky TV, video and stereo radio, and books and games. Modern facilities are combined with original features such as a traditional open coal burning range, with two sofas and two armchairs. Stunning views can be seen from all windows of Matterdale and the Watermillock Fells. Other facilities include a fridge, washing machine, and microwave, and a wonderful porch area to garden, the perfect spot from which to sit and admire the views!
