Converted 18C Farm House tranquil location with spectacular views. 15mins walk to centre of Keswick.

Spooney Green is an idyllic converted 18th century farm house and barn situated at the foot of Latrigg. Perfect North Lakes walking and climbing territory. The house is set in one and a half acres of beautiful garden, which is a haven for wildlife including red squirrels and a large variety of garden birds. We are also on the Cumbria Way footpath and the main walking track up Skiddaw goes right past our door. Ample car parking space is available, and we have secure storage for mountain bikes. We also have drying facilities for your equipment and a good supply of local maps and guide books for guests to use. Sorry we cannot accommodate children under 12 years of age.

If you're looking for a quiet retreat, off the beaten track, then Spooney Green is ideal, one of the best views in Keswick. Wholesome breakfasts, which are served at a time to suit you, include eggs from our own chickens, home made bread and preserves, and you might even get honey straight from our hives! We pride ourselves on a friendly country house atmosphere. Guests can enjoy the magical garden which develops each year. The ponds are an ever changing scene, alive with frogs newts and dragon flies, and every year hosts a family of wild ducklings.

Rooms Description

We have three double bedrooms two en-suite and one with a private bathroom. One can either be a twin or double. The comfortable rooms have T.V. and video, hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. The rooms are south west facing and have wonderful views over the western Lake District fells. For the comfort of all our guests we cannot accept pets.

Specialities

We are outdoor enthusiasts and can give you advise on walking and cycle routs. If you let us know in advance we can arrange guided walks, paragliding lessons, water sports days etc. Or you might just want to sit and take in the view.
