Overwater Hall is a three star country house hotel set in eighteen acres of gardens and woodland, flanked by Skiddaw and the surrounding fells. The house is a grade II listed Georgian Mansion, parts of which date back to the 1780's , and has been designated as a building of Architectural and Historic Interest. The AA has awarded us three stars, reflecting the quality and service aspects of the hotel. Start the day with a truly Cumbrian breakfast made using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. A delicious dinner is also available in the evenings.

The Lake District has long been a destination for lovers of the great outdoors and its lakes, hills and mountains appeal to both walkers and climbers alike. The grounds of the hotel offer great opportunities for admiring the local wildlife, with the red squirrels often proving to be the top attraction! Deer, rabbit and woodpeckers can also often be seen feeding in the vicinity and there are now ospreys breeding on our side of Bassenthwaite Lake.
