A selection of one, two and three bedroom cottages are available, suitable for short breaks or relaxing holidays at any time of year. This is an ideal base for a touring holiday of the Lake District and Penrith and the M6 Motorway are only 20 minutes away by car. Attractions to be found within easy reach include the Eden Valley, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders.

For those who enjoy the great outdoors there are many enjoyable walks to be found locally, ranging from strenuous walks on the fells to relaxing strolls by the river, which ca be taken right from the cottage door. Cyclists may explore the Pennine and Cumbria cycle ways and some of the best game fishing around can be found in the River Eden. For those who enjoy a game of golf, there are courses nearby at Appleby and Penrith, and a little further afield at Keswick and Silloth.

Rooms Description

Milburn Grange Holiday Cottages are well equipped and each has a full sized kitchen complete with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, toaster, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. All have a full size bathroom, with the exception of Holly Cottage and The Studio, which each have a shower room. Each property has a colour TV and there is access to clothes washing and drying facilities either in the cottage or in a communal utility room. Seven cottages are available in all ranging from a three bedroom sleeping 4-6 plus cot to a cosy one bedroom sleeping 2.

Specialities

Guests benefit from a range of facilities adjacent to the holiday cottages, including a shared utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, iron and payphone. This room acts as a Visitor Information centre and carries a wealth of information to enable you to make the most of your stay in the Lake District. In addition, a Pool table, for guest use, is located in this room. In the gardens you will find picnic tables, two BBQs (one gas) and outdoor drying facilities. For kids, there is an adventure playground positioned a little away from the cottages.

Directions

If approaching from the A1, exit at Scotch Corner and take the A66 West to Appleby. Bypass Appleby and travel a couple of miles to Kirkby Thore. Turn right at the Bridge End Inn. The road is signposted Knock, Milburn and Dufton. After approximately 2 miles you will approach a 'T' junction. Turn left and almost immediately right into a narrow lane. Continue down the lane to a sharp right-hand then left-hand bend then, after a few yards, across a large field to your left, you will see Milburn Grange Holiday Cottages. The road bends left, down a hill to a junction opposite a bungalow (where the lane bends sharply to the right). The entrance to Milburn Grange is straight ahead on the left.
