7 cosy non-smoking holiday cottages in beautiful location, sleep 1-7, ideal for walking or relaxing

Milburn Grange Lake District holiday cottages lie directly below the Pennines in charming market town Appleby which has it's own castle and idyllic old church. Penrith and the M6 Motorway are only 20 mins by car. The whole area is one of outstanding Natural Beauty, with panoramic views of the Lake District Fells. All our 7 cottages are comfortable and offer a high standard of accommodation and are open all year. The cottages, surrounded by gardens and pasture, are situate in beautiful rural settings, and yet are within easy driving distance of the popular tourist centres of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall and Scottish Borders. There is ample off-road/on-site parking in the farmyard near all cottages and guests can store bicycles also. We welcome only well-behaved dogs (maximum 2 per cottage) by prior arrangement but we ask that they are not left alone in the cottages or allowed upstairs or on the furniture.

If you're looking for a holiday with lots of outdoor activities easily accessible, then our holiday cottages are perfect. There is ample scope for strenuous walks on the fells or a stroll by the river, many may be taken right from your cottage door. Cyclists can explore the Pennine and Cumbrian cycle ways, which pass by our farmhouse gate. Some of the best game fishing in England is offered on the River Eden and nearby there are fishing lakes. Golfers will enjoy the challenges offered by the local courses (Both Appleby and Penrith) and those a little farther afield, Keswick and Silloth. Appleby offers a grocery and butchers shop, a bakery, pharmacy, post office, garage, several traditional pubs, cafes, take-away food outlets and restaurants. Guests also have access to a payphone and coal is available locally in small plastic sacks for the cottages with fireplaces (Brambles and Holly Cottages). For the comfort of our guests all our cottages are non-smoking.
