Situated in the delightful village of Patterdale, and surrounded by some of Lakeland's most magnificent scenery, Old Water View has been welcoming visitors for over 100 years. Nestling on the banks of Goldrill Beck, which flows round our garden, Old Water View is the perfect place for a relaxing break, whether for a single night or longer. All the main tourist centres of Ambleside, Windermere, Keswick and Penrith are within easy reach of Patterdale. Run by Ian and Sarah Moseley, guests have their own exclusive rooms, where you are free to relax without feeling as though you are sharing our family accommodation. Old Water View is very 'Âœwalker friendly', and if you should happen to arrive with us slightly 'Âœdamp', we will try to ensure that you leave the next day fully refreshed, and in dry clothing and boots!! We have a guest lounge, with a real log fire, equipped with a TV and video, as well as a wide selection of maps, guide books and games. At the end of a busy day, a perfect place to relax and plan your next one. We aim to ensure you leave us at the end of your stay refreshed, and ready to face whatever the day might have in store for you. We'll send you on your way with a traditional 'ÂœLakeland' breakfast, and with a packed lunch if required.

First opened as 'ÂœUllswater View Boarding House' in 1904, Old Water View has been welcoming walkers, travellers and holiday makers for over one hundred years. Alfred Wainwright stayed here on a number of occasions whilst he was creating the world famous 'ÂœCoast to Coast' walk, the route of which passes within 100 metres of our door. Patterdale is a small village, nestling at the southern end of Lake Ullswater, and surrounded by some of Lakeland's finest scenery. It's a peaceful, unspoilt village, away from the busy tourist centres, and yet within easy reach of them. Ambleside, Windermere, Keswick and Penrith are all a short distance away, which makes it the ideal place in which to base yourself to explore the whole of Lakeland.
