Red Barn Cottages are two exquisite high quality barn conversions set around a cobbled courtyard within beautifully tranquil extensive private grounds. The holiday cottages are conveniently placed close to Ullswater, England's most beautiful Lake, bustling Penrith with it's many pubs and specialist shops, and superb North Lakes centre Keswick. The cottages also have panoramic views across to the Lakeland Fells. The picturesque village of Greystoke is less than a mile away, with its general store/post office as well as a public house, outdoor swimming pool and its own impressive church and castle. The lovely hamlet of Greystoke Gill is just 1/2 mile from Red Barn and is home to the renowned Beckstones Art Gallery as well a pottery and antiques shop. All the cottages are fully furnished, cosy and comfortable and retain many original features combined with all modern facilities. Guests have access to undercover parking adjacent to the cottages and laundry facilities are available. The cottages are available to guests all year round and are 'Quality in Tourism' (VisitBritain) four star rated.

Red Barn holiday cottages are ideally situated for walkers, cyclists and tourists alike being well placed right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Within easy reach is the Eden Valley, North Pennines, Carlisle, Solway Firth and Hadrians Wall and Scotland is only 45 minutes drive to the North. Red Barn itself is set in a very peaceful and private location yet is only one and a half mile from the main Penrith to Keswick road. There are extensive private grounds with views across to Helvellyn and Blencathra, and, with an abundance of country lanes and public footpaths, there are a variety of walks in the immediate vicinity. Penrith is approximately 5 miles to the east.

Rooms Description

Guests can choose from two holiday cottages. The Granary sleeps 2-3 people and is fully furnished to a high standard, with full central heating. All bed linen and towels are provided, and the cottage has a colour TV/video. Outside there is a delightful patio/lawned area with garden furniture. Private undercover parking is available as well. The ground floor consists of a Sandstone flagged entrance porch, a well furnished lounge with beamed ceiling and lovely retained features with a log fire effect stove set in an inglenook fireplace. The Granary also includes a dining area and a fully fitted kitchen with beamed ceiling and lovely glazed archways. Our second cottage is The Orchard which sleeps 2 guests. The Orchard is fully furnished to a high standard and has full central heating. All bed linen and towels are provided and the cottage has a colour TV/video and outside patio/lawned area with garden furniture. Undercover parking is provided.

Specialities

Prices for all cottages are per week, unless otherwise stated and are fully inclusive of electricity, heating and hot water. All bed linen and towels are included. Christmas and New Year breaks are charged at High Season rates and Winter and short break deals are available. Please ask when booking.
