Bracken Bank Lodge is a famous 4 star grouse shooting lodge in the heart of the Eden valley in the North Lake District. The area is one of outstanding natural beauty. Bracken Bank Lodge benefits from easy access to both the M6 and A6, which are just a few miles away. The historic market town of Penrith is just a scenic six mile journey and has an excellent direct train service to London. This beautifully appointed shooting lodge dates from the 17th Century. It has a lot of charm and character and there is a wonderful atmosphere.The lodge is traditionally furnished with antiques, oil paintings, sporting prints,hunting trophies and log fires. Facilities include a gun room, a wonderful old English bar and a snooker room. The Red Dining Room is hung with sporting trophies and ancestral portraits. There are barbeques and croquet on the south facing lawn. Bracken Bank Lodge is well known for weddings and corporate entertainment. It is also an ideal and very popular venue for family holidays,activity breaks, stag groups and country house weekends.

Bracken Bank Lodge sits within its own private 700 acre Estate. The beautiful Estate boasts a variety of landscapes with lowland heath, heather, lakes, ponds and woodland all ringed with ancient dry stone walls. The Estate is home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, buzzard, red squirrel, badger and great crested newts. Game birds include partridge, pheasant and woodcock. There is a very wide range of sporting activities on the Estate itself including clay pigeon shooting, paintball, falconry, archery, riffle shooting, survival courses and team building activities. Locally there is mountain biking, horse riding, fell walking, canoeing, abseiling, golf, quad biking and a beautiful private indoor swimming pool to hire. Evening entertainments include murder mysteries and casino nights.

Rooms Description

Each bedroom is individually styled. There is a romantic king size four poster room overlooking the fountain, two stunning double four poster rooms overlooking the Estate, two pretty twin rooms and two single four poster rooms overlooking the cobbled courtyard. There is further accommodation locally if you have more guests.
