The setting is a quiet and peaceful village and valley, most conveniently placed for the Cumbrian Way long distance walk and the Coast to Coast footpaths. The bedrooms of this old traditional cottage overlook the stream with its ford, footbridge and grassy banks and to add to the atmosphere, the walls of the cottage are covered in an intriguing collection of paintings, old prints and watercolours.
