Low Graythwaite Hall is a uniquely beautiful country house dating back to the 16th century. This quiet family run Guest House offers bed & breakfast accommodation near Hawkshead in the centre of the Lake District. This historic house is an ideal base for fishing, horse riding, fell walking and exploring the Lake District. Original features abound, with an oak panelled hallway leading into the Great Hall with its magnificent fireplace. Also within the grounds of Low Graythwaite Hall Bed and Breakfast is a self catering Holiday cottage with free fishing and a swimming pool.
This ancient house and its lands, which formerly amounted to about 1,500 acres was originally held by customary freehold of the Abbey of Furness. The present hall, and small paneled lounge in the entrance wing, dates from the time of John Sawrey. We do not have a drinks licence but feel free to bring your own. All of the house is non smoking. To set guests off on a great start to the day, we offer a selection of fruit, a choice of cereals, a Lakeland breakfast using only locally reared & organic produce (vegetarian also catered for), toast and a choice of teas and coffees.
