Lonsdale House Hotel was built in 1851 as a fine Gentleman's Residence and was converted to a hotel in 1932. Recently fully refurbished retaining much of its original character and Victorian features the accommodation won the coveted 'UK Accommodation of the Year' award and has attained the ETC standard of 4 star accommodation with a Visit Britain Silver Hosting Award. We offer superb en-suite accommodation finished to a very high standard throughout. Rooms are available with Lake Views, Deluxe Four Poster Beds and Large Deluxe Family Rooms.

Lonsdale House is set in the picturesque Victorian village of Bowness-on-Windermere which nestles on the shores of Lake Windermere. The village provides an abundance of restaurants, bars, shops and attractions. From the promenade you can hire boats of all sizes or take a cruise on the Lake. The central Lake District location makes it an ideal base for those wishing to explore the Lakes. All of our fantastic rooms are en-suite and are finished to a very high standard. We have rooms available with Lake Views, Luxury Four Poster Beds and Large Deluxe Family rooms with a maximum capacity of five people. All rooms have TV/VCR (100 title video library), radio, alarm clock, telephone, hair drier, complimentary sherry and a welcome tray including tea, coffee, biscuits and sweets. We have a comfortable and relaxing Guest Lounge which is a great place to unwind after a long day exploring the surrounding area. Why not have a tipple in our traditional 'Cellar Bar' which serves Draught Beers, Champagne, Wines, Spirits, Liquers and snacks.
