Melbourne Guest House offers a cheery an friendly welcome in Bowness village on Lake Windermere. This traditional cottage is built in Cumbrian stone and though we are situated in a quiet corner of the village we are close to a superb choice of restaurants, shops and traditional pubs. There are a whole host of things to see and do in the local area including boat rides on Lake Windermere, Beatrix Potter's House, cycling in Grizedale Forest, canoeing, horse riding or a journey on the Eskdale and Ravenglass narrow gauge railway.

Before heading out to explore the local area, start the day with a cooked Lakeland breakfast in our dining room where lighter options are available. On returning to the guest house, relax in the comfortable guest lounge where tea and coffee is available in addition to a range of books, newspapers and videos. We are fully central heated for those cooler evenings / mornings and have umbrellas ready for that unexpected down pour !! For the weather conscious, we can offer an up to date weather report service also on request. We offer a choice of single room with private bathroom and double and family rooms with en-suite facilities. Each room is equipped with hair dryer, shaving points, iron and ironing board. Cots and high chairs are available on request. We have facilities for bicycle storage and offer a laundry service. Packed lunches and flask filling is available on request.
