Directions

If travelling by Car, leave the M6 motorway at Junction 36 (signposted Kendal and South Lakes) and follow the A591 (via the Kendal bypass) to Windermere. Following signs to Bowness and the Lake, leave the A591 and drive through Windermere village to Bowness. Before descending the steep hill in the centre of Bowness, turn left at the Lakeland shop into Helm Road. The Angel Inn is on your immediate right, where there is ample car parking. If arriving by train, Windermere is connected to the main Euston-Glasgow line at Oxenholme station. Taxis or buses run regularly directly from Windermere station to Bowness and The Angel Inn.
